I have scheduled my gum surgery for next Thursday. Whee! Joe can't take me, so I'll have to rely on my Dad. Because I'll be all loopy. Hopefully, my car will be back by then.

We leave TOMORROW. Whee! I'm so excited I have butterflies.

On the minus side, Catherine gave me her cold. JUST what I need - a cold on a nine-hour flight. I'm Zicaming, but it'll still be with me tomorrow.

Oh, goodie. Sinus infection. JUST what I need right now.

Tired of this pattern: Catherine gets cold. Catherine gives cold to me. I Zicam cold into oblivion, and get a sinus infection instead. It's happened twice in less than three months, and I had never had a sinus infection before.

Last night, when her fever spiked to a terrifying 104.6 (105 is where you start worrying about brain damage), we took Catherine to Phoenix Children's Hospital ER. I'm running on very little sleep, myself, now, as a result, but it is probable (though not definite) that she has the dread PigFlu. My husband needs a hip replacement. Actually, he needs two, but one is more pressing than the other.

Honestly, when I married him, I should have gotten the extended warranty.

Last night, Catherine was, apparently, not feeling well. She didn't eat, she was more than usually fussy, and she took a 90-minute evening nap - usually, if she takes an evening nap at all, it's no more than half an hour. Sinus headaches suck.

My voice is gone, and it hurts to try to talk. Otherwise, I'm mostly okay (other than the bad headache), but I think I may go home after lunch. I'm definitely getting some Robitussin, though - I discovered last night that I had about a teaspoonful left. Why I didn't throw it away, I don't know. I tweaked a nerve running down the outside of my right thigh while I was in the hospital. Since then, it's been kind of numb, with occasional shooting pains as I re-tweak the nerve (fortunately of the sensory rather than motor variety, or I'd probably be having trouble walking, too).

I suppose I should have that looked at.

Sigh.
