Work's getting different. Not better or worse, just different. This new shift has me getting up at 5:30a and getting home at 5:30p. The overtime will be nice, but really, if I wasn't getting called up to help the front end EVERY FIVE MINUTES maybe they wouldn't have to put people into OT to get the job done. After 19 months of nights, they have finally hired people that prefer nights, so I'm going back to day shifts FINALLY. Hopefully this will be more in a stocking capacity than a checking capacity but that'd be too good to be true ( Read more... )

I am getting something of a birthday present from work: A DAY SHIFT. Which gives me tonight and tomorrow night off. The trick of it will staying up today in order to sleep at night today. Current Suikoden 5 playtime - 90 hours, and still taking time to level up skills to "S".

Girl - has new job that pays more, but not as fun as coffee job she lost when shop was closed

Apartment - messy as hell, shopping around for a bigger one

Me - need a haircut but otherwise okay

MORAL: Big dogs are AWESOME.

I'm not really posting in this much lately. This can be attributed to many things:

I've been out applying for new jobs. I have been working at the grocery for over nine years and while I appreciate the skills I learned, the co-workers I've met, and the weight I've lost, it's time to move on and do something that makes that college diploma look ( Read more... )

Working nights is hard enough, but we had to attend a security meeting during the day so it seriously cut into my zzzz-time. The meeting itself was nothing really difficult, just two and a half hours of talk about how to prevent inventory losses. Highlights for me ( Read more... )

Some employees at my work are union, some aren't. When union members get a raise, non-union members get a check equivalent to that raise that covers hours worked for the past year.

Guess who's non-union!
