Well, after having trouble with my DVD editor and making "fancy" menus for the TSA Bash 2009 video, I decided to stick with the simple menu. For some reason, the simple one works on all the DVD players I test it on, and the "fancy" one doesn't. It works on about half. It probably depends on how new the DVD player is. I'm back home from a great weekend in Chicago at MFF. As usual, the con was fun, but I seemed a little removed from it this time. I'm not sure if it's because I was in the overflow hotel or if it's because Beth went, too. I think it's the former, because Beth was enjoying herself doing all sorts of things at the con.

So, I did it. I bought a new video camera. I have yet to hear back from the repair shop about the diagnosis on my old video camera, but I decided it was time to get a new one. Mostly to have two to use during events, plus it gives me more options to play back my tapes.

In between working on editing a wedding video and visiting with my parents, I got to see a movie and a musical this weekend.

So far, this weekend has been busy. Maybe not really "busy" but the days have been long.

Friday, Beth and I went to see Pan's Labyrinth. It finally opened in Memphis (even it was only on two screens in the whole city.) What a great movie! It was pretty graphic though. I was expecting a dark fairy-tale type of movie, and that's what it was. ( Read more... )

My Aunt and Uncle's 35th anniversary party was today. Even though my uncle wanted to have a small party and knew it was going to be out at my cousin's house, both of them were surprised at how many people were there. Well, the project is almost done, but then there's another huge one looming on the horizon. This time it's all the fixes that they want made to the basic functionality of all the lessons (not just the ones in my project) to do all the stuff that they specifically said they didn't want before.
