We just had our engagement photos done in St. Augustine today. It was our first time working with our photographer, and she is just wonderful. Together we wandered around historic downtown, despite the clouds, wind, and occasional raining. The teasers she posted after getting home look lovely, and I can't wait to see the rest!

I can't believe it's been over six months since I last posted, and we've got less than six months left! I've gotten a lot done in that time, thankfully.

We signed a contract and paid $1680 towards a deposit for our wedding venue 6 months ago. Yesterday, they called me to say they want us out. They got a 'better' offer, some corporate gig want to book their venue for the whole weekend of our wedding, so they've given us the shaft. I am fuming right now ( Read more... )

So, South Florida has, like, SO many venue options. So many. I am having serious trouble narrowing them down! But I find that they sort of fall into two categories:

1. Venues that just provide the space. No tables, chairs, food, planner, what have you.
2. Venues that provide the space, plus the table and chair set-up, food, and, to varying degrees, other ( Read more... )

So, I know a very good caterer, who I'd like to hire for my wedding. They'd give me amazing food at a super good price. Sounds great, but I'm having a very difficult time finding a venue that 1) can accommodate 175 guests in the winter and 2) doesn't carry a $10,000 site fee.
