I listened to the Word Balloon podcast's interview with Brian Azzarello on the upcoming "First Wave" mini series. I have to admit I wasn't terribly impressed with Azzarrello. So Mini Nanowrimo is over. Holy word count Batman! I tabulated all my words today out of morbid curioisty. Even with all the insane stuff (i.e. new carpet) going on this month and only focusing on mini nanowrimo, I still managed to write over 10K. That's a pretty decent accomplishment. La La Land Records sent out a notice saying they're releasing the "Batman - Mask of the Phantasm" Shirley Walker score. It's an expanded version with over 27 minutes of additional music. It's another limited release though, so get it while you can. Preorders go on sale March 24th through their website and released the following week. World's Finest ( Read more... )

Since stargateguy mentioned finding the Shadow/Doc Savage reprints at his local Half Price Books (a chain we don't have here sadly), other information has cropped up on my pulp mailing lists. Preview of the Eureka comic from Boom: Meh. I always have art issues with media tie-in books. You either swing one direction into photo-realism or you swing towards regular comic art and try to make them look like the actors/characters. This is closer to the latter. And if you're remotely interested in getting the Batman Animated Series soundtrack, you might want to hurry. The print run is limited to 3000 copies and World's Finest is reporting that La La Land has already sold 2500 copies since it went on sale in December. That bodes well for future releases as well.
