I did my annual 9/11 night drive to see the Tribute in Light, but it was a cloudy night, which made it less impressive. On a clear night the beams of light seem to go all the way into space and beyond. I took my car into Manhattan tonight for a photo run, since I hoped some Chinese New Year windows would be up. My car made it through, though the last two times I started it in the city it sounded weak and scared me a bit. I removed the iTunes on my laptop, as iTunes suggested, and installed a new one I downloaded from online, but the new iTunes retains the registry setting problems that prevented my last iTunes from importing or burning CDs! What do I do now, because I am now afraid to try anything? System Restore might just add even more problems ( Read more... )

Now that my VCR seems to have been killed--with one of my Weiß Kreuz tapes in it no less, with me unable to get it out by ejecting or even unscrewing the top of the unit off and trying to manually remove it--I've gone back to seeing if I can fix the CD/DVD drive in my laptop again, since it would be convenient to be able to read my WK CD-Rs on my ( Read more... )

Since I don't have enough going on right now, my iPod is acting up in a new way. I had to force eject it because it wouldn't sync or eject since "A duplicate file was specified" and "The iPod 'V's iPod' cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application. Lately my years-old iPod has been randomly turning its screen on a lot, which is quickly killing the battery power. Seriously, nothing is touching it and it turns on, even when it's locked. Is there a way to stop this?

ETA: Doing a factory reset doesn't seem to have stopped it.

Today my iNano Shuffle played six songs from Eisbrecher's Sünde in a row, though not in the album order. Sünde is a great album, but that was still so weird. Once again, I wish I had a better idea of how Shuffle makes song selections.

I took a ride tonight to get a look at the annual Tribute in Light by riding along the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and along the Brooklyn waterfront near Brooklyn Bridge and cried a bit. It really breaks my heart having to move songs off my iPod Mini to make room for new music. Even with me being highly selective in loading music to iTunes, I have 9.13 GB in iTunes but can only fit 7.27 GB on Tiny. I know I could fit more songs on Tiny if I save the MP3s at a lower fidelity, but the actual sound is very important to me so that's ( Read more... )
