A bit late for Torchwood. I was in Danmark for a week and only returned yesterday. The good thing is I managed to finish the second-to-last chapter of
The Shade of Somewhere Else. Less good is that I was too tired to proofread it yesterday, or read anything else for that matter. All I did was watch Torchwood and Doctor Who - can never be too tired

So did I! There was a great potential for fanfic!
You're right, Owen's story seems... unfinished, somehow.
As for Grey, I didn't even like his looks. besides, no one can tell me that guy is releated to Captain Jack!
Besides - did he call him Jack? I thought that wasn't actually his name!
The Doctor going all panicky and hopless seems a bit odd, yes. But I'm still gonna rewatch it as soon as possible.

There was one bit where Grey did look a bit like Jack. Possibly the scene where Jack gets buried. (I laughed when the first shovel of dirt landed on his face... ^^;;) I'm not sure if Grey called him Jack.
I watched PiC again today at uni, on my friend's laptop! (She brought it especially for that (o__O) and her laptop's not exactly light either.) The panicky/hopeless bit is still so weird to watch. I don't like the Doctor much like that. Still, I'll just assume he's depressed or something. ^^

I wasn't surprised about Owen and Tosh either, but was clinging to hope. As much as I like they two that are supposed to replace them, I don't think they fit into the series. Well, we'll see.
Writing posts as replies to posts is fine. I do that a lot.

Wouldn't work, as John didn't do anything to deliberately hurt Jack in my story, it's just a side effect. When he decides to go Time Lord hunting he doesn't know about the Doctor and Jack.
Maybe I'll ignore the episode and finish the story like I staarted it, but even then I wouldn't upload it at Teaspoon or any comm but only in this journal. Friends locked.
The only comm I'm visiting regularly is dw_slash, and there is little Rose present, fortunately. Otherwise I might start hating her before she comes back.
Still not sure how I feel about it. I hope they don't fuck it up by making the Doctor go all "Oh Rose!" again. I hope they'll handle it as a chance for him to let her go.
Missed you by the way!

*nods* There isn't much wank on dw_slash. I just hate the drama and the bitching. I basically only visit friends journals and a couple of comms for just those reasons!
Yeah, the Doctor and Rose need closure. Hopefully the episodes will continue much like this one because it was amazing! After TW, I was seriously concerned that muses could be declared clinically dead. Between your return and my boyfriend's comment (which is on my LJ), I'm feeling much better!

As a matter of fact it was planned like that anyway. The beginning of the scene was already written, to be exact.
As you said, great minds think alike.
I liked the way Jack and John interacted in my story. I don't usually like what I wrote myself but this time I did so far. Would be a shame to give that up, but as I wrote before: if I do continue I'll probably only upload it friends locked in this journal, for the interested. Since I friended you long ago that won't be much of a problem. (Otherwise it would be, as I'm mainly writing it for you.)
I'll probably just ignore this episode for the story, as it is set before Exit Wounds anyway.
It's so damn hard to let them be in-character when the series itself doesn't manage to do that. That's Tochwood for you. Stable characters really aren't their strong point. With the exception of Tosh and possibly Gwen.
