things are slowing down at work-today is the big meeting for phd admissions with aid. i'm able to kinda get my desk clean.

in other news-i put myself in the hands of a student reporter for the UDK about staff layoffs and budget cuts.

i went to the senate meeting and thought there was some drama there. a new senator jumped in a discussion that was out of place and made references that let me to believe she was bashing the chairwoman of a committee! the thing was, said chairwoman was at the meeting!!!!! after some talking and seems that the woman was going on about another ( Read more... )

it was a whopping 2 degrees as i ate my oatmeal this morning. when i arrived in my office my little clock/thermometer said it was 49.

yes, 49 degrees in my office!!! i moved it away from the window and it slowly made it up to the low 60s. i'm sitting here in my coat, had and wearing my office sweater across my lap to keep warm.

work last week ended with the closure of the stair well in my building.  this started with seeing huge sections of parking on memorial drive closed.  i was hopeful for about 2 minutes that they were going to repave those sections--that is, until i saw the dates-august 11th!!
