Started grad school today.  Officially, had my first two classes.  Neither of which I was prepared for.  Forgot to check out blackboard, print the syllabus and be generally aware of what was going on.  Thankfully they're not crazy and were still understanding about the lag between getting back to school and being in the swing of things.  Totally ( Read more... )

The best part about envelop gifts is that I get to build up the anticipation. I only let myself open one or two at a time and then I have to wait for a while until I can open the other. It's similar to the way that I read really good books. I read a couple of chapters and then force myself to put it down and go do something else. 

I'm begining a slow attempt to read up on the different presidential candidates. I've sucribed myself to the NY Times, so everyday I get the headlines sent to me via e-mail. notes: His Dark Materials (Pullman) are good books. I'd read the first two (Compass and Knife) years ago but forgot/missed so much. All the subtle things.  Dying Inside is supposed to be about a telepath losing his powers. Sounds good to me.

That was my fastest read of Hary Potter to date.  I haven't yet read the Epilouge, I feel that I would like some time to pass before I do.
