I believe that if I focus my energy and resources on an activity, opportunities will arise to make use of and reward that activity.

It's a good philosophy, but it's not a terribly impressive business plan.

I'm on Facebook now. The immediate use (distinguishing it from MySpace et al.) seems to be connecting my contact info to my real name in an easy-to-find place that still gives me veto power over who sees it. I'm thinking that by the end of the year, I'm going to want a laptop. Part of the reason is being able to perform more sequenced and sampled music outside of my basement. Having Fruity Oaty Bar stuck in my head doesn't help.

Despite little-to-no mention of it, MacPhail does in fact have someone on staff offering private composition instruction. Ha! That and continuing piano lessons nicely suit my immediate educational needs.

Now I just need to figure out how to pay for it.

If I needed to make (a) a music video, and (b) a film short, who would I talk to? I have a couple of people in mind, but it's worth asking around.

I've been connecting my Yamaha S08 to my PC through a Midisport 2x2, mostly out of habit from when I had my Proteus modules in the loop. I could, I suppose, take advantage of the fact that the S08 has a built-in USB MIDI port. Any advantage in doing that, oh wise ones?
