This was another project I was so glad to go back and revisit. I made my very first rainbow scarf way back in June... 2008! I still wear that rainbow scarf and love it just as much as the day I made it, and it gives me a funny feeling of nostalgia (mixed with a little embarrassment! ) to see all the wonky top-stitching. This past week the weather has taken a dismal turn for the worst, so it hasn't taken much encouragement to hide in the safety of my craft room every chance I could! Happily this meant that I got quite a bit of sewing done!

I love swaps! I'm addicted. I can't say no, no matter how much other work I have on my plate already. It's beginning to be a little bit of a problem but, out of all the swaps out there, I doubly couldn't say no to this one. So many of the best quilters out there take part - I just had to be part of that mix!

I decided, on a complete whim as I seem to do most of the time, that I would like to make a baby quilt for a new work friend. I justified it to myself as a baby quilt would be a nice intermediate step between minis and a full sized quilt - and at least if I make it FOR little Maxwell then it will have a recipient and not just lie around my sewing ( Read more... )
