It was hard to let him go but it was time for him to go to his forever home, so I packed him up nice and snuggly in a big packing box (those horns take up a lot of room!) and sent him on a big journey overseas.

When I take commissions I usually warn people that they shouldn't expect their plush zooming across the ocean in a week. In fact it's more likely to be a couple of months. I don't know why - if I sat down and sewed every night I could probably have it done in 2 weeks.

This week's theme was our favourite snack. I found it impossible to choose just one, and then I had the dilemma of not actually having any snacks in the house! (this is a deliberate choice as, if there aren't any snacks in reach, I can't eat them!)

I decided, on a complete whim as I seem to do most of the time, that I would like to make a baby quilt for a new work friend. I justified it to myself as a baby quilt would be a nice intermediate step between minis and a full sized quilt - and at least if I make it FOR little Maxwell then it will have a recipient and not just lie around my sewing ( Read more... )

I know I'm not the only one who loves the smell and feel of new stationary.

We're out there and yes we're weird but we can't help it.

The smell of fresh paper.

The crisp feel as you turn the pages.

All those blank pages waiting for ideas to spill out.
