Plush You! 2009

Sep 04, 2009 18:35

I'm a bit bummed that I didn't get to make clothes for my Plush You plushies (or that the rabbit is still sitting in pieces... ahem) but Remy and Babette, the jet-setting French couple, are now living the high life over in Washington, USA.

Babette you've all seen before. I've wanted to make a black lamb for ages now and I finally found the perfect woollen jumper to felt - it had both black and grey in the same jumper! It was meant to be.

And Remy is a cream goat because really, I just can't get enough of nubby little horns. He is made from an angora-mohair jumper felted (fulled) in the washing machine just like Babette.

Fulling sweaters is really easy! Just make sure it's a 100% wool sweater (80% will work too, it just won't felt up as much), and pop it in your washing machine on the hottest, roughest cycle - I use Denim. You might also want to use some detergent too. I say detergent because soap helps the felting process, however, most washing powders/liquids these days are too gentle for felting. You really want to agitate the fibres!

Then make sure you dry it on super hot in your clothes dryer just to finish off the process!

Like all girls, Babette loves to lie with her head on her man's lap. Aww.

And because I love you guys and love my new iphone, here are a few wallpapers for you! For free! Just beacuse I'm nice like that.

(One with a black band up the top so the clock doesn't obscure the image... if you're a particular kind of fussy person like me. )

To use it just visit this webpage on your iPhone and hold your finger on the image until the box pops up that says "save image". Then go to your photos and select this photo and choose "set as wallpaper".
