This past week the weather has taken a dismal turn for the worst, so it hasn't taken much encouragement to hide in the safety of my craft room every chance I could! Happily this meant that I got quite a bit of sewing done!
Remember my
"planned improvisation"? Well here is the result! I think it worked out very well, don't you?
Two wonky bento blocks in gorgeous sea glass colours for the lovely
Sarah of By Needle and Thread.
I normally wouldn't work in these colours - not that I don't like them, but they're just not my "colour crush" right now (for the record - it's butter yellow that's wooing me these days!) But it was really good to stretch my limits and work with something I normally would not have.
She asked for wonky, improvised blocks - so I sketched and planned them out - complete with the "improvised" scrappy pieces!
I will actually be sad to see these ones go out the door but I know that they'll be a part of Sarah's wonky bento quilting bee quilt.
{ I like my polaroids, but I thought these photos were too lovely to crop! }
And these little pastel triangles are making their way overseas to
Beth at Maddie and Me to become a part of what's going to be a truly lovely baby quilt. I can't wait to see it all finished!
