Oh, Korea....

Well, after a whole lot of difficulties and rain, project_mayhem_ made it to Indy from Chicago at about 6:30 in the morning. It's been almost a month since my last post. It's not been that I've had an unwillingness to write, but it's been such a full and engaging month that I just haven't found the time. I feel a little guilty at that, because there were a number of moments that I would have loved have written down for posterity.

It's been an epic couple of days. I'm sitting in the Yeosu airport, tired but glad that we've managed everything thus far. I felt a twinge of regret as we passed the mountains that I've grown to love so much, but mostly I'm just ready. Ready to see my family. Ready to move on to the next adventure ( Read more... )

We are four days away from leaving Yeosu, and six days from leaving Korea for what is probably for good. I am more fine with this than I expected to be, even with all of the uncertainty of what lies ahead.

We're in the process of packing what needs to be packed while shipping, selling, and giving away the rest.

Two years ago at this time, I was in a van heading into Seoul. It was colder than I'd expected, and I was exhausted from the long flight and from crying my eyes out all week. It amazes me that despite coming from a long line of Northern Europeans and growing up in the frigid Midwest, I have absolutely no tolerance for cold weather. Seriously, it's awful.
