I do not understand why "Service Learning" (which I've personally dubbed forced volunteering) is a requirement for a class with a fee. I should not have to pay to volunteer my time.

This past summer I began taking classes again. I finally re-took & passed (with a 97.1%) Japanese year one second semester. Now I'm enrolled in Japanese year two first semester & Intro to Women's Studies. Well, I've gotten myself transferred into the General Studies program. I'm attempting to get my Associate's degree in order to "lock in" the credits & courses I've taken before they "expire". I do not want a formal education if it means sitting in a boring classroom studying a subject for four months that I could easily master in two. I do not want a bachelor's degree. Before the semester's end, I have to choose my plans for summer. The lecturer who teaches the vb.net class I lab assist for has asked me to be his TA this summer. Not only will I be teaching labs, but I'll also be grading these student's projects. College kids trying to park suck. It amazes me that anyone with intelligence doesn't know that the big thick white line painted on the pavement means stop. Duh. Also, when the signs in the parking garage say one way (& the spaces are all diagonal) one would think that's enough. I thought college required one to be able to read. I think I'm cursed. After being sick & missing a week of classes & work, I finally feel better. Wonderful. So I schedule my exam for this morning. No problem.
