My not-yet-extant honors thesis is basically all contained within the pages of this book. 9 out of 10 original ideas that I have had in the process of researching this thing occur in about 3 chapters of this book.

Can you legitimately reinvent the wheel if you didn't know it existed?

I have three and a half hours to make it through Schiller's Über das Pathetische, take a shower, and break my fast. Eminently doable.

WHY CAN I NOT SEEM TO PUT A SINGLE WORD DOWN ON THE PAGE WHEN IT COMES TO THIS DAMN HONORS THESIS?

Guh. Just don't know what to write. I have no thesis statement, no proper outline, just some fragmented ideas and sources and not very much besides. And the words won't come...

Should I just drop out of school and get a job? Because my savings are actually vanishing before my eyes, and I feel kind of stupid and useless sitting around reading several hundred year old novels when I may not be able to afford rent.

I'm about 28% through my initial sweep through the translation, but only 20% through the contract period. If I keep up my current pace, I'll be close to 45% done by the time my contract is 25% up. This is better news than I thought! If I can be 70-75% done by the time I reach Berlin in October, then I should have ample time to finish the job, ( Read more... )

I've been feeling awfully drained and lacking in energy lately. I'll get six or seven hours of sleep every night, but still be completely unable to drag myself out of bed in the mornings, and will get little or nothing done throughout the day at work. I think I just need a couple of good nights' sleep to catch back up, and then some self-discipline ( Read more... )
