Spent the day at the cat show (working, not showing either of 'the boys') and had some time to take a few photos. (I am still trying to improve my ability to take photos of cats being judged in halls where the lighting isn't great, without the flash. It looks like it might be a long process.)

I like to think I'm a minimalist but perhaps I'm faking it. The house looks fairly uncluttered but the wardrobes and hall cupboards tell a different story. On the positive side I am in the middle of a project to declutter the library wardrobe but in the process I ran into a quite unrelated little hoard - more saved birthday cards.

Gary's friend from his air force days arrived yesterday for an overnight stay. Don visited us this time last year to tell us he was moving from Wellington (two hours drive away) to Christchurch in the South Island where his daughter and grandchildren now live. Wheee! I wait all year for the ginko leaves to yellow and fall at the house on the corner. Sadly they came down overnight in the storm and so are a bit water damaged otherwise I might have bought a few buckets-full home to sprinkle around the hedgehog house.

One of the cats brought a mouse inside. Sadly the mouse did not survive, nor was its presence discovered until - well let's just say the problem had multiplied in the worst possible way. Never mind.
