My birthday was fine, I guess -- I spent it at home, sewing, and being on the phone. A surprising number of people called me up to wish me a happy birthday, enough that I didn't even get to make breakfast until after noon. And I got presents! I'm close enough to done with the new reticule that I can probably finish it on the train tomorrow. Wow! Mad sewing all day. I've even forgotten to eat since breakfast. All I have left to do is buttonholes (getting to use my nifty buttonhole scissors) and sewing on buttons, and finishing the edges. I'm thinking of skipping the broderie anglaise border frills, partly because of cost, and partly because, well, it's not actually supposed to be seen. ( Read more... )
