Well, there's been a few delays lately with my escape route - mainly that the sounder I was using to test for possible wall cavity penetration points & structural integrity seems to keep timing out waiting to process return signals from my sounding tests. Things are looking good. I was able to make some significant progress yesterday in going over my plans and charts and then doing some initial soundings. I actually was fortunate enough to look outside on the beach, and one of the gentlemen out there who I often see around the beach was holding up a sign. Feb 19th.

Things are looking good to begin digging tomorrow morning! It seems all my planning & hard work at preparations have paid off. It seems my guards will be busy for the next week or so, off on some other duties, allowing me the much needed & necessary time in order to begin the soundings to find the best location to start my escape tunnel!

Well, as I had specified in my last entry, I had planned to already have started on my escape route by now, but as it turns out, there's been a few setbacks - mainly, it seems that my captors haven't left me alone long enough to spend any amount of serious time beginning on the digging.

Just got word that my duties will finally start to be relaxed a bit. I'm excited for this news - means I can spend even just a few more minutes a day working on my escape route. The beach outside still looks amazing - there's still only a few people out on it. Most of the rest of them are trapped in here, like I am, I would guess... too ( Read more... )

Ah, it seems that despite the best of intentions, I have long left this faithful journal amiss by the wayside. Perhaps one of my most fruitful goals for 2008 shall be its return to convivial excitement, with new tales & wonders to hear of every day!
