The cataract surgeries went well. No issues, really. It took a lot longer for my left eye to heal and catch up, but it is doing good now. I can see without glasses, and I can see far away, but I cannot read or see things clearly if they are within my arms reach. I now have to have reading glasses to see anything close up. My second cataract surgery had to be postponed until Oct 7 because my "designated driver" never showed up on Monday morning. I am recovering slowly from the cataract surgery. The follow up eye appt was good: No issues after one day. I am seeing a little better in that eye as the days go by. It is, ofc, going to take a while, and I need the surgery on the other eye before my total vision will be stabilized ( Read more... )

          Someone asked me why I don't have an issue with vaccinations. My reason is simple: I lived through times before many vaccines were released. Measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox), and more. My parents exposed me to some of those on purpose because it was best to get them while still young. The mask mandate will lift for most situations on June 11th in Kentucky. The restaurant/bar curfew will lift too. Some businesses, however, will still be requiring masks, like Kroger grocery stores. Some won't keep that restriction.

Me, the mask is staying on, despite my being fully vaccinated.

When I was younger I remember seeing many television shows and movies where you see the dad or granddad heading towards the bathroom with a newspaper under the arm, him saying or suggesting that "This will take a while."
