Washers have some sort of 'saftey' in place for morons. Unfortunately, it did not work out well for this moron. The washer WILL NOT drain unless lid is closed.

So, it smells like something is burning in the laundry room. The washer should have started to either drain or 'mix'. It made this weird, low buzz sound. Now it won't drain, and I have an entire load of clothes in a washer full of water. I'm ringing them out by hand and going to throw them in the dryer.
