Day 1 of "you & your barco (now with a side of processor)" has been a success. It helps that I'm the only student. Also, the company did straighten out the hotel situation so I don't have to find a cardboard box on the side ...of the street to sleep in for the rest of the week ( Read more... )

Got a call from the Ops Manager a little bit ago. He had just gotten off the phone with the Gannett folks about my application and they did actually need something from me first. They want me to come up to Tyson's Corner Virginia for a weeks worth of training on the platesetter/processor machines!! That's my old stomping grounds so of course I ( Read more... )

Turned in application to the paper's Operations Manager. He's going to try and push it through... this time next week I may yet again be a Gannett employee. Not sure how the folks at Lowe's are going to take it.

So, I get a phone call today asking if I'd be interested in coming back to the newspaper to take my old job back. Hell yeah! Guess I should have figured that out sooner; my old boss works with me at Lowe's and he had said that he was leaving the plateroom.
