Well damn.
So, I get a phone call today asking if I'd be interested in coming back to the newspaper to take my old job back. Hell yeah! Guess I should have figured that out sooner; my old boss works with me at Lowe's and he had said that he was leaving the plateroom. Then our former co-worker (also a platemaker) who was going to be tapped for the position just found a job somewhere else. Logically, if you didn't want to train up someone from scratch, I'd be next in line as probably the only other person in the area that knows these particular machines.
Anyway, it's my old 5p to 1a shift, without all the extra crap that got piled on by the end to get out the daily paper and all the commercial stuff... just the USA Today. I'll probably get close to my old pay and perhaps even more - going to bring my resume with me to have them attach it and see if our bosses in Springfield VA aren't more impressed by all the Satcom stuff on there.
Not sure if I'll keep the Lowe's job. Between school and the paper, I don't know how much time I could spend there and remain as sane as I am now. It would make for a nice little bonus check to play with; bank it all for a trip to Vancouver or London.... or all the house renovations I need to do. I'll have to see how things work out.
But, yeah... seriously bouncing around here. Gotta get going and get that application done.
