...I just realized I haven't actually seen the sun in over a week. Sure, there has been a sort of dull ambient grayness overhead, but no actual sun at all. It is awful, and is making me construct elaborate schemes to stow away on the next flight to Hawaii I can find. There is a cicada that sounds exactly like a pissed-off Smoke Monster chattering away on our back deck. It's becoming a grave distraction.

(It had better go chatter somewhere else before I catch it for my Zoo project, damnit.)

For lunch today, I am having sushi, kumquats, tom yum cashews, pomegranate limeade and candied hibiscus flowers.

Have I ever mentioned I love Trader Joes? 'Cuz I totally, totally do. :D
