While in Tahiti for the Olympic surfing event, the athletes are staying on the ship that we will be taking for our cruise next year.

They are feeling pretty spoiled. I would be, too.

Woke to a rocky ship and a pounding rainstorm. Not the best of omens to start the day. It rained until just after sunrise and then things sort of evened out. We are currently anchored off the coast of the Conflict Islands, waiting to see if we are going to be able to tender or not ( Read more... )

Woke up to rain - we are heading into the rainy season here with a vengeance. Today we are at the tiny island of Kiriwina.

According to Wikipedia:

Yesterday, after TBG complained once again, they finished planting our front patch. Still haven't put down the black bark yet, but we are just that one step from being completely done. Who would have thought it would take them that long? Ye gad, they ripped our garden out in late April and have only now put in plants... and monkey grass to boot ( Read more... )

We cancelled the Egypt cruise last night. It wasn't because we worried about the region, but they wanted payment in full (and it wasn't cheap) now for a cruise that wouldn't happen until November 2022.
