We woke to gray skies, but it was extremely warm out, typical tropical weather. It would rain on and off all day, along with overnight, but it didn’t really stop anyone from doing anything.
We decided to have breakfast at the spot designated for suites and elite passengers. As it was on the Pacific Princess, it was at Sabatini’s and the offerings were limited. I really prefer the buffet for a range of choices. Anyhow, I splurged and had eggs benedict and TBG has a soft boiled egg over potatoes and hollandaise sauce. Afterwards, it was time to walk about the ship and try to get our bearings.
Our cabin is midship and that works out pretty well. We really aren’t far from anything, despite the size of the ship. And we are just steps from the elevator, so that makes it easy as well.
The pool is lovely and much larger than the one we were used to. What surprised me was how many people weren’t using it. It stood empty most of the day.
Back in the cabin, we read, TBG watched a movie and I messed around on the computer a bit. Lunch was at the buffet and was fine, although no great shakes. I’ve found the pasta on the ship to be overcooked and a bit mushy. Barb has ruined me for pasta.
Afterwards, we had a bit of a lie down and then it was off to the Cruise Critic Meet and Greet at the Lido Bar. We were supposed to be 22, but only 14 ended up coming. It was fine until a woman started singing at the far and then no one could hear anything. We moved to around the corner and that was okay, but a bit stuffy. There was a bit of trouble getting our drinks delivered, but Princess made it up to us by supplying some free apps. It was nice to put faces to names and we even met up with two of them the next morning for lunch. It’s always nice to have someone to chat with.
It was formal night, so we head down to the cabin to get tarted up a bit for dinner. It was our first journey down to the Main Dining Room and it was a bit of a madhouse. Thankfully, we are part of the Club Class, so there is a little spot set off to one side. Our staff was lovely and it was a fun evening. I do miss dining with a mess of people at a table, but at least I know how to make conversation with the person I’m seated with. :DD
Dinner was lovely. I started with vegetable tempura, followed by potato soup, and Prawns over Coconut Rice. TBG had a prawn cocktail, then lobster bisque, beef medallions and turned potatoes, then followed by ice cream with some Galliano. Talk about sweet dreams! Neither of us even tried to make it to the production show! :D
