It was time for my annual appointment with the eye doctor, and since I was having a little bit of trouble with my right hand, I went ahead and scheduled a visit with my general practitioner too. She has asked me to come in about every 4 months for blood work to check on the status of my hypothyroidism ( Read more... )

Last month as Jan and Corey and I made a trip to south GA, Jan got to see cotton and peanuts and pecan trees and hundred year old  live oaks covered in Spanish moss.  While we were in the area, we passed through Patterson, the place where I grew up.  Here are a few snapshots of the area along with a visit to some ancestors.

 I was feeling a bit under the weather for the last few days so I went to the doctor to see if I had something.  It turns out that there is a minor virus going around that the symptoms are pretty mild...just a sore throat and some post nasal drip.  It was pretty much what I had been experiencing.  I'm not sure where I got it.  We suspect either Jan ( Read more... )

 Follow-up visit with the doctor to get blood work done again.  This is the second test to see if the first results were a fluke or if I really do have hypothyroidism.  No big deal if I do.  It is treatable with medication and not all that much to get upset about.  Blood pressure was 120/80 and everything else looked great..
