30 years ago today I turned the page and ended the first chapter of my life.  On July 8, 1982 I went to bed for the final time as a Georgia farm boy.  The very next day, in Jacksonville, FL, I was sworn into the USAF and one of my greatest adventures began.  Oh, the things I did, the places I went and the friends I made....even today, nothing else ( Read more... )

Several people have asked me about the trips I took to Russia and the friends that I invited to visit here.

Last month as Jan and Corey and I made a trip to south GA, Jan got to see cotton and peanuts and pecan trees and hundred year old  live oaks covered in Spanish moss.  While we were in the area, we passed through Patterson, the place where I grew up.  Here are a few snapshots of the area along with a visit to some ancestors.

The Georgia Renaissance Festival.

Every once in a while something from my past resurfaces. 
This is one of those times. 
I was in the Air Force for more than 6 years.  My first assignment was to the 533 Strategic Missile Squadron in Wichita, Kansas.  I was a BMAT (Ballistic Missile Analyst Technician) on a Launch Crew.
