New tool

Yep, I got a new laptop.  Walmart had one on sale for about $270, and even that cheap, it far exceeds anything else in our house.
With 2GB of RAM and a 250GB hard drive running at 1GHz it runs rings around my old laptop (which was on its last leg with a broken screen, dead battery, broken charger, shorted out power cord, touchpad that didn't work anymore etc.) and compared to my 9 year old desktop, this thing is like a cold war jet fighter compared to a hot air balloon.  It may not be top of the line, but it is economical and efficient and is probably going to handle all the tasks I can throw at it adequately for the next half a decade or so.

I was fortunate to make enough money on the side by working for Ray to cover the cost of this new tool.  It's just as well.  This thing will be instrumental in any more work I do with Ray going forward anyway.  It was getting pretty irritating to have to shut down and reboot any time I wanted to move from one place to another because the old laptop battery was fried by the defective charger.

Oh well.  Time to get back to babysitting 500 microwave sites.  Another day, another dollar....

me, work
