Turn it up!

We have a mess o' kitties this week.  Luka was petting on a litter of cuties who were so young, they hadn't learned the "bat the wire toy" game yet.  They were just staring at the fuzzy end of the wire with total WTF? expressions.  But Luka would bat at it herself, showing them how it's done, and then they'd hesitantly take a swat themselves.  It ( Read more... )

Y'know, I don't mind walking the dogs at the animal shelter, but spending time with the cats is so much more fun.  I'm just more of a cat guy, really.  No apologies.

One more story I found in this morning's news-scan: in Yokohama city in Kanagawa prefecture, suburban Tokyo, they held a Rabbit Fest, complete with a "Dress Your Pet Bunny" display. There are no words for the joy this brings me, so let me offer you pics instead.

Since we started volunteering at the animal shelter, there's been a few kitties to sink their claws into Luka's heart, and a couple we even contemplated moving homes just so we could adopt them.  Falling in love is one of the dangers, of course, and my sweet, tender-hearted wife has a knack for bonding with only the most amazing cats.
