Kitty of the week.
Y'know, I don't mind walking the dogs at the animal shelter, but spending time with the cats is so much more fun. I'm just more of a cat guy, really. No apologies.
Get a load of this guy. They call him Slalom.
He's a stray who came in with some other guys named Luge, Hockey and Mogul. I guess there was some kind of competition going on at the time? Anyway, all four of these boys are snugglers, but Slalom here takes the cake. You give him any kind of attention, and he's purring and trying to make out with you.
I put him on my lap and he started rolling around and licking my hand. I've never had a cat lick my hand so much that it got wet. I was starting to think I tasted good. Then he licked my chin too. Luckily Luka came over and he started charming her as well.
This boy was here last week too, which makes me wonder WHY!?! How does a cat this friendly, especially with his ultra-soft grey fur and creamy jade eyes, end up spending more than a day at the humane society? How hasn't he been snatched up?
The shelter isn't that far from where I work, so if I clock out in time some evening this week, I'm gonna hafta drop by for another coating of kitty-spit.
EDIT: I checked the website, and he's gone home. Somebody adopted him, proving again that there's intelligent life on the planet. Best wishes, Handsome Cat. Here's hoping the new family gives you lots of petting and a better name.
