The BP station that the bus stops at is closed now, and apparently Jefferson Lines hadn't told the driver that, as he let a couple of guys off for essential supply run purposes. I hope the convenience store nearer the freeway picks up the stop, as I have no wish to wait outside a deserted building in the cold come after

Saturday, I had a ticket to a preview of "The Secret World of Arietty", a Disney release of a Studio Ghibli film based on the Borrowers books. Made it back to the cities with little difficulty. Surprisingly, even though the bus was packed solid, it was pretty much on time, and remained so all the way south.

Hotmail doesn't seem to be up at the moment, so this is also to let the folks know I made it okay.

Hope everyone had a decent holiday, and can look forward to 2008.

Sunday was gloomy and rainy as we headed up north. Traveling along the back roads, there were more trees and fields than signs and buildings, but the best of the fall color had faded, and the yellows, browns and dark green quickly palled in the grey light.

I was thrilled, thrilled I tell you, to find out my paycheck was shorted this week. And in a way not having anything to do with me failing to punch in or out, so I couldn't detect it ahead of time. Dad dropped me off at the convenience store which acts as Sandstone's bus depot these days at 4:50 PM, about five minutes before the bus was scheduled to come. I assured him that waiting in the car wouldn't be necessary, as I could shop for a little bit ( Read more... )

As is traditional, I will be spending the Christmas weekend with my parents here in Sandstone.

Bus was more crowded than usual, with more than one person getting off at my stop!

Presents are under the tree, but it remains to be seen how long they'll stay there.
