Back again...
I was thrilled, thrilled I tell you, to find out my paycheck was shorted this week. And in a way not having anything to do with me failing to punch in or out, so I couldn't detect it ahead of time. Fortunately, it was only slightly shorted, so I will be able to survive until next pay period.
No word from the landlady, so I'm presuming I'm covered for at least until Monday on that front.
And I hauled my computer over to General Nanosystems. The repair tech was baffled; he's never seen a power supply go bad that fast before. But he didn't detect any obvious motherboard problems, so just replaced the power. As that was covered under warranty, and I'd come all that way, I decided to have some extra memory installed while I was in the shop. I'm hoping this will stop the computer constantly whining about a lack of memory.
I got over on the bus, but was so sore by the time I got to the store that I splurged on a cab for the return. The cabbie seemed quite pleased with his tip, which admittedly was a bit large, but I was too tired to figure out percentages.
And it is nice to be back online.
