Parks Canada has just shared a collection of photos of the archaeological dive and some of the artefacts recovered from the wreck of the HMS Investigator, which had gone in search of Franklin's lost ships.

Oh tarnation!  I was working with my flickr and it changed aaaallllllll the URLs of the Shackleton mood theme.  So now they're not visible in the community here.  *sniff*

There's a lovely slide show here of images from the Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1957-1958 (Sir Edmund Hillary and Vivian Fuchs), with audio by Geoffrey Martin who was the photographer and journalist.  It's fascinating!
