I'm on the verge of making a huge career change. If my time at Arc has taught me anything, it's that I can make a difference in peoples' lives just by being myself. And despite what I see in my darkest moments, I can be a decent person who genuinely wants to help others.

Well, I'll be going to the Women's Center from now on because I've started the process of applying for Medicaid. They're right across the street from our apartment, which means I can walk to/from appointments. Being constantly reminded that I lack a "big people job" feels like small stabs at my sanity. The fact that I have .39 cents in my bank account for the next week makes me feel ashamed.
