I may not have found that pesky 1930s pattern, but I did find my mockup of dawnluck's Daffodown Dilly stays.  I got excited about the pattern again, and am going to have a go at the paresseuse lazy lacing instead of the drafted wrap around.  I'm hoping that with a firm grip on the top and bottom edges that it will support my acreage a little better. If I ( Read more... )

Sunday was my regular ACG sewing bee, this time at luv2costume's back-of-shop in Penrith.  The trip out was the best ever!  I got there less than 1.5 hours from leaving home, sadly my trip home took a full 2 hours.

Though I shall confess to not getting a single eyelet sewn, so I sewed myself into to it using an upholstery needle and narrow cotton tape.  The tabs aren't bound yet either, cos 5m was about 2m (aka over 2 yards) short of what I need.  The binding I got is too wide, so I'm going to see if splitting it down the middle makes it wide enough ... and ( Read more... )
