I ended up helping ref crazieabby's soccer game today, when the center ref needed the assistance on the sidelines. I appreciate my expertise being brought into play, but I didn't feel as comfortable cheering for her on the breakaway. It was a bit difficult, keeping my mouth shut. An unusually academic day. Was at Ecumenicon today, where I took a class on Gnosticism and got notes for classes in pastoral counseling. (Didn't make the later classes due to scheduling conflicts and fark-ups, not all of which were my doing - but it's okay.) Not doing anything for Lent this year. I still can't get into it. I received my ordination certificate today from the Universal Life Church. (/me turns and presses the "That Was Easy" button on his work desk) So I can now officially marry, bury, baptize, and perform other similar wonderful rituals with a simple wave of my Credentials of Ministry! Around this time of year, I'm always wrestling with the "Christmas spirit" - do I have enough, do I have too much, am I wrong for having it? Do I need to do more for my kids, my wife, my friends or family, my fellow man? Or should I just knock it off and leave everyone the heck alone?

Blessed Samhain and a blessed All Hallows' Even. Yes, only I could so thoroughly unsecularize a holiday about scaring people and getting candy. I figure by Valentine's Day I'll have earned my Merit Badge in Pedantry.
