An unusually academic day. Was at
Ecumenicon today, where I took a class on Gnosticism and got notes for classes in pastoral counseling. (Didn't make the later classes due to scheduling conflicts and fark-ups, not all of which were my doing - but it's okay.) Missed Kid-1's game - a 1-1 tie, with Kid-1 getting the goal, and, apparently, yelling at one of the opposing team. She was a bit embarrassed; it was the first time in eight years, she said on the phone, that she'd actually done so. Anyway, it's a small, friendly con, accepting even for the very few Christians like me, and I had a nice time; got some nice things from the hucksters there for the family and got to meet
wolfdancer, who I only knew peripherally. (Note: remember to get her to massage me at some point.) Also got myself some incense and a nice hematite cross pendant.
From there DW picked me up and we hustled on to the
o2b2 Shakespeare workshop, where I got to discuss and read some soliloquies. I got stuck with Lady Macbeth to start, which I kind of muddled my way through. Later I tackled the opening soliloquy of Richard III, which I was told I did better. (My favorite Shakespeare villain speech is probably Edmund's opening monologue from King Lear, although Aaron's nasty speech from near the end of Titus Andronicus is up there, too - it's so over-the-top.)
