Well, Crunchyroll goes completely legit. They've removed all of the user-uploaded anime and will be replacing them with high-quality versions as they get permission from the creators/rights-owners. They'll actually be streaming shows within hours of them airing in Japan. They have a paid Anime Membership available - I don't think that's the only ( Read more... )

Funimation is going to distribute Samurai Champloo. I only hope that they distribute it at a reasonable price so I can finally get it.

FUNimation Acquires Slayers Revolution. I knew it was only a matter of time.

Topic 1: For those interested, Rightstuf has begun it's annual 12 Days of Anime sale. They generally have stuff like series box sets for really cheap. I've never actually bought anything during the sale in the past as either nothing caught my attention or I was short of funds from buying presents. We'll see how things go this year.

Topic 1: Robert "Iron Man" Downey Jr. has been cast as Sherlock Holmes in a movie due out in 2010. I was a very big Holmes fan girl in my early teens. The D.Gray-man anime ended this week with 103 episodes. Despite the fact that I love the manga (enough that I would call it my current favorite), I never got into the anime. Evidently, I wasn't the only one as it was canceled for poor ratings. The manga, fortunately, is still very popular.

Hulu and Joost are offering free, legal anime streaming; subbed as well as dubbed series, including popular titles like Death Note and Naruto. Udon is publishing a free manga online (just one title) via crunchroll.

I haven't had a chance to really check out either of those so I don't know how well it's done.

Manga Helpers has a list of upcomming fall Anime. There doesn't seem to be much I'll be checking out this Fall. Tales of the Abyss, of course. Kuro Shitsuji looks interesting. That's abou it, but I'll probably snag a bunch of first eps. to see if anything else looks interesting.
