Well, I can say that I tried...but I am not going to make it to the starting line of the Boston Marathon this year. It was not meant to be. I completed my 15-mile long run back in February and then the flu and successive colds plus dissertation writing and general motherhood put me out of commission. (<---EXCUSES ( Read more... )

I haven't been keeping up with my log very well, but Saturday was my 15-mile run. This was quite a milestone. The marathon is 2 months away, but I feel like I am on track to make it to the starting line. Last night I decided to go to the beach, which was a bad decision because 1) it was high tide, thus the sand was soft and twice as difficult to run on and 2) it was generally a murky, spooky night. We had a fantastic weekend at Mt Desert Island. Driving up on Friday night in the rain was a bit of a long ride--5 hours--and apparently it must have been Bring Your Alpaca on a Roadtrip Day, because I saw no less than four vanfuls of alpacas on their way to somewhere.
