So this is a continuation post from Part 1: The Climb. Anyway, after our lovely mountain climb Dan and I and my brother and sis-in-law, plus my niece and her boyfriend, all participated in the Marshmallowman Triathlon on Sunday.
Dan won it AGAIN.
And each member of Dan's family won first place in his or her division.
You may remember he
won it last year, and the year before that as well.
I should be getting more pics from my nephew's gf, including one of me smiling so hard after the bike leg that it pretty much just looks like I'm trying to contain the vomit.
Oh, I came in second, by the way. In both my age/gender group in the triathlon and in the horsehoe tourney. Talk about a streak of second-rate luck, man.
Nephew John watched Moira for me:
A Water Start (wasn't NEARLY as cold as the last time, thank God!):
[You can just barely see me in the center of the photo. You can see part of my leg and the back of my swimcap. I'm behind a lot of people already.]
GO!
My niece's boyfriend (who is also named Dan, coincidentally) was the first person out of the water. He's on the swim team and it shows. I actually PASSED my Dan in the swim. He's such a sally. Ha. :P
Yes, he totally reads this journal on the sly.
The only advice I would give myself if I had to do it over would be to actually ride my bike more than once all summer. You know, train and stuff. Because my ass STILL hurts, people; I haven't built up the ass-callous needed to be a proficient cyclist.
Oh, and the other advice I would give myself is to not Choke in the finals of horseshoes and totally fail to score any points. That was lame.
Anyhoo, more pics to follow.
