The baby blanket I started knitting back in March is now finally finished. I made it for my friends' Gordon and Cindy's new baby boy, Liam, who was born nearly six-weeks early in March. I am so tired. My sleep is constantly interrupted, like between four and six times a night. Sometimes it's Lucas, mostly it's Asher waking me. Sometimes one of the boys wakes up at 5 a.m. and doesn't go back to sleep. I haven't slept more than 2 or 3 hours straight since May of 2006. First Haircut
We decided that 18 months would be a good age for Asher to get his first proper haircut. I say "proper" because the truth is, I've trimmed his bangs so he could see twice. But this was the big haircut. The one where you save the hair in a little Ziploc (my, I use these a lot!) baggie for who knows what purpose.

Other hand is wrapped around my feverish baby. Not getting much done, although that was my plan for today. I've nursed him, sung songs, read stories, recited nursery rhymes, showed him pictures, read him LJ posts, served food and ice-water-nothing cheers him up. He's naked, hot, and lethargic, poor baby!

Lucas, you are six years old today! Six years ago we held you in our arms for the first time. You were tiny; only 6 pounds and 8 ounces. You had lots of dark, dark hair and a wrinkled up face and red skin. We dressed you in mismatched baby clothes-because you came early and we didn't have all the new ones laundered yet.
