Woot!: I went to hooping last night, and even though I was really late and only got about half an hour of hooping time, I think I sucked about 3% less than last time. This weekend had a lot of lovely moments, even though I was having an epic Day of Fail on Saturday. It's snowing all prettily out, which is making it mighty hard for me to get motivated to do some work today. I wonder if the snow plows will take out the speed bumps in my complex this time? Shaking our tailfeathers
Last night, I went to my first workshop in West African dance, with master Ivorian dancer Samba Diallo. In my sporadic study of West African dance, Harmony's been my only teacher, so this was not only my first workshop, but also my first time learning Ivorian dance from an Ivorian, and my first time learning it from a male instructor.

I am so tired today. This weekend was great fun and a lot of work, and I didn't get near enough work done in between, and I'm not ready for it to be the week again. - BPAL put up their Halloween update today. Holy crap, that's a ton of stink right there. I'm mostly not feeling wanty-grabby about most of them, though some of the South American ones look interesting, and I'm tempted by Hellhound On My Trail and John Barleycorn just cause. Upcoming trips to the Dark Side...
Dark Side Tribal will be performing this Saturday night, August 16, up in Muncie, IN at a benefit hafla for the Autism Research Institute. This show is in memory of Jo Smith, a dancer from Indy who passed away earlier this year-- a member of her family is autistic and the ARI was an organization they supported.
