So, first, I'm OK. Two posts ago was maybe scary, and it's still weird and uncertain and surreally racist, homophobic, and misogynist here in my neck o' the woods, but I personally am doing-OK. Not great, not well, not poorly, but fine, middling. I'm getting shit done so I can vacate the premises.

My niece passed away yesterday. Wednesday evening, her mom picked her up from the babysitter's, and that night Elise said her stomach hurt. They thought it was the flu and weren't overly concerned until the next morning when she started throwing up blood--black blood. Go to the ER, and they're sent home, the doctor saying it's the flu.
