Quick gardening post. Spring is starting to head our way. I am working through my seed order. I want to replace all my seeds, usually I keep them a few years and try to replant them, but I had to chuck a bunch of them out as something got in to the plastic container and ate most of them. Well, stayed home sick today. I am not 100% hacking-ready-to-die sick but knew if I went in I'd be pushing myself. I'm feeling better for the nap & warm lemon & honey & ginger drinks & the hours spent just lying in bed with warm flannel sheets & a good book. We have had a really nice run of weather this weekend. It has been sunny and warm. I hit the garden centre and picked up a few things so I could enjoy the sun. I've spent 4 or 5 hours out there this weekend. I picked up some pea straw to try as mulch to keep moisture in. Things have been going ok for me. I've been fighting off various colds that are making their rounds at work. We've been short handed due to annual leave, sick leave and bereavement leave. Did the pre-pay day budget today. I hate doing that, things seem to get tighter & tighter, especially around end to 1st of the month (which this pay period overlaps). *Sigh*. I picked this up from Freyas_fire at LJ. Please read, order seeds &/or a catalogue if you can, and repost to spread the word. This company specialises in heirloom varieties. I believe it is very important to keep places like this open to maintain our access to heirloom varieties.
