The worst of the cold has passed, but I'm still pretty tired and--worst of all--the cough came back. Now that's lingering. And it's not really responding to the rescue inhaler this time around.

We've had frosts in October sometimes, although it's not exactly common, but this is the earliest we've had snow in the 23 years I've lived here. The expected heavy rains mixed with snow, starting mid-morning, and also sleet. It's not sticking to the pavement much, yet, although there are some slushy places. I like using a fabric-softener sheet in the dryer with the towels. Just now, I opened a new box of Stop and Shop "free and clear" dryer sheets, and the fragrance almost knocked me over. Eeeeeesh! I just got a packet of material from my health insurance company welcoming me to their asthma care program. They assure me that my doctor knows about this and will continue treating me for asthma. The packet includes some brochures and a checklist to discuss with my doctor.

Which is all well and good--except for the fact that I don't *have* asthma
