I may have been a bit ambitious about sending out conference proposals over the last few months.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.  But, just to keep it all straight (for myself, at least), my itinerary for 2010 as of today:

I haven't really talked with people, online or real-life, about Christmas presents this year. Since stinky_monky and I are saving up for the adoption in January, we will have to be stingy about sending out presents, and at the same time we do not expect people to buy us stuff. Today we overcame one of the last bureaucratic hurdles in the adoption homestudy process!  Our friendly neighborhood fire inspector came by to look at our smoke detectors and fire extinguishers this morning and, after I moved one of the detectors to a more useful spot, gave us his blessing.  So we now have clearances from the FBI, BCI (Ohio's ( Read more... )

Well, we've made some progress on the adoption front.  A week or so ago we mailed off our "life book," which contains short biographies, descriptions of our families and pets, and lots of photos, and the application for our home study.  This afternoon we had the first of two interviews with the social worker who will conduct the home study.  From ( Read more... )
