Today was possibly the worst day to begin working a Saturday shift. It's been snowing for three days, and the winter wonderland keeps saying "stay home, watch movies, and drink spiked hot chocolate." Today, as I was in the middle of a phone call with a doctor's office, about to adjust a claim, when one of the trainers looked out the suddenly dark window and said "that's tornado weather."  A few minutes later, as I was still trying to figure out how to adjust a claim since I'm still new at this, a panicked voice came over the loudspeaker.  " ( Read more... )

The last four weeks have been a blur.  Life comes in three-hour cycles now.  Sometimes there is daylight outside.  Sometimes it is dark outside.  Things are much cheerier when it's light outside.

After weeks and weeks of below-freezing temperatures we just finished two days of sunshine and snow-melting temperatures!  Ah, glorious days.  My eyes aren't used to sunshine, though, and I've had a splitting headache for two days because of all the squinting...
