Strummin' in Toledo

We finally have some news on the adoption front.  If you've been following
stinky_monky's adoption blog or our cryptic messages on Facebook, you know that a young woman has chosen us to adopt her child.  We both are tremendously excited and slightly nervous about the prospect that this whole big project we've been working on for months just might lead to something.  On Thursday we drove to Toledo to meet her and her attorney, and the meeting went really well (at least from our perspective).

We connected over the topic of videogames, strangely enough.  She and her other children like to play with the Nintendo Wii, and she's up to date on the state of the various consoles.  We might have to introduce them all to Rock Band.  Who says nothing will come out of playing videogames...?

I also like to think I helped seal the deal by mentioning that I'm teaching myself how to play the ukulele.  Through the magic of the internet (mainly Youtube and other random websites), I've learned eight or nine chords and will soon actually attempt to play a real song.  (I'll keep you all informed when I score my big break into show business.)  That kind of effort should impress everybody.
